Banoffee Pie
Serves: approx. 8 people
Ingredients:
Pie base:
250g biscuits, crumbed
70g butter, melted
Filling:
2 cans of caramel
2 bananas, sliced
300ml Thickened cream, whipped
Method:
Pie base:
Combine the crumbed biscuits and melted butter in a bowl
Tip biscuit mix into a pie dish and evenly spread the mixture across the base and up the sides
Using a flat base cup, gently push the mixture until compressed and evenly spread across the base and sides
Filing:
Fill pie base with caramel
Add whipped cream on top of caramel
Decorate the top of the pie with sliced banana
Cut pie into wedges and enjoy!
Tips & Hints:
For a quick and easy alternative to whipping thickened cream, try a can of whipped cream
For another quick alternative, buy a premade pie base from a grocery store
Add any toppings you would like (e.g. chocolate flake crumbled over the top with strawberries)
To crumb biscuits without a food processor, try placing biscuits in a snap lock bag or reusable bag, then crush biscuits with a rolling pin or jar until crumbed
