Hot Honey

Serves: Makes 1/2 cup of honey

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of raw honey

  • 1 tsp chilli flakes (can substitute with a whole dried chilli or diced fresh chilli)

  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Method:

  • Add honey and chilli to a small saucepan

  • Heat until small bubbles appear around the edge of the saucepan

  • Remove from heat and stir in the apple cider vinegar

  • Strain the chilli flakes for less heat or leave in the honey for a bit of extra spice

  • Enjoy!

Tips & Hints:

Uses for hot honey:

  • Add to toasties, sandwiches and wraps

  • Mix in with salad dressing

  • Add to marinade for a chicken dish (or any protein)

  • Jazz up a charcuterie board

  • Drizzle over pizzas

  • Spread over damper or toast (mix in with softened butter)

  • Drizzle over pancakes or waffles

  • Caramelise bacon

  • Drizzle over grilled veggies

  • Add it to drinks
